Dave Wood is the Founder and Owner of RevOps Consulting LLC, a business focused on helping companies develop and integrate software and services revenue recognition systems into their Revenue Operations.
Dave has over 18 years of hands-on experience dealing with the various revenue recognition issues that software companies face. During this time, the accounting world first created the rules and guidelines specific to the software industry in the form of Statement of Position 91-1. Since that first publication many years ago, the entire approach to recognizing software revenue has evolved into a very complex set of rules, revisions and interpretations that can easily bog a company down.
While directly accountable for adherence to the software revenue recognition rules, Dave was also the Quote-To-Cash Process Owner for J.D. Edwards, Inc, a software and services company that grew to over $1 billion in revenues. Subsequent to the acquistion of J.D. Edwards by PeopleSoft, Inc., he then took the role of Director of North American Shared Services with a staff of up to 135 people.
RevOps Consulting was founded in 2005 and has clients ranging in size from a start-up with less than $500,000 in annual revenues to a Fortune 100 company with revenues in excess of $50 billion. These same clients included Application Service Providers (ASP), a hardware focused organization, and various software and service companies selling in different markets.
RevOps is based in Colorado which enables convenient travel to most major cities in the United States.
